Frosty sunrise: A winter sun rises over the bluffs to shine through the cottonwoods on the Chuitna River, near the proposed Chuitna Coal Mine. The first few hours of the day found us buried in the depths of the Chuitna valley, until the low winter sun finally crested the bluffs.
