Set fire to your frozen shoes. Cut your own hair with a pocket knife. Chop raw garlic with your teeth…

The full-length documentary of our year-long journey along the North Pacific Coast, had its world premier on December 6, 2010 at the Anchorage International Film Festival, where it won a “Best in Fest” award. It has packed houses across the state, and has been winning awards and visiting film festivals across the country, including an award from the prestigious Banff Film Festival.

Synopsis: A married couple attempt to walk, paddle and ski under their own power from Seattle to the Aleutians along the wild and remote northwest coast of North America. This documentary was filmed with a tiny handheld video camera by the adventurers as they traveled through northern Washington, British Columbia and Alaska. Experience this modern adventure through their eyes as they encounter breathtaking scenery, harsh weather, amazing wildlife, starvation and danger. This expedition demonstrates that the most significant aspect of a trek is not reaching the final destination but how the journey changes the trajectory of the rest of a person’s life.

Footage by Erin McKittrick, Bretwood Higman, and Eric Parsons. Directed, Produced, and Edited by Greg Chaney (meaning that he did all the hard work taking our hard drive full of scattered and unskilled footage and actually making something of it)
