Tossed boulder

A storm at Sitkagi Lagoon tossed this red-algae-covered boulder far above its normal place in the intertidal zone. Boulders are less sensitive to erosion than sand or gravel, but even the boulder beaches are changing quickly. From our Life on Ice expedition, September-November 2011.
