Kivalina seawall

Fall storms hit this coast with less protection from sea ice, leading to rapid erosion. The village of Kivalina on the Chukchi Sea has been washing away for years. Several hundred people are crammed onto a narrow spit of land between a lagoon, the ocean, and two river channels.
