Working on switchbacks

Dense brush on a steep slope is not ideal for building trail. To keep the grade low requires switchbacks, but bears will sometimes bushwhack off the corners. This creates a trail that can be more obvious than the intended route if the brush grows in, misleading people. We have been experimenting with building stone steps on the corners to round them a bit and make it more likely bears won't stray.
