Nickname: "Sideways"

Scientific name -- possible: Ascidia callosa
— Habitat: Rocks. Low intertidal, under overhangs. Found on Schooner Beach and Outside Beach. Description: Smooth or mostly-smooth solitary tunicate. Rounded body, squashed shape. Siphons protrude from one end of the body, as if the tunicate is attached sideways to the rock. Notes: A. callosa in existing guide looks less squashed, and siphons more central/upward facing. Ascidia is the only genus I can find with this sort of sideways attachment, however. My "mushroom" may also be A. callosa, and these two groups look different to me.
