Geologist surveying landslide hazards

This shallow basin, which sometimes holds a pond, may be created by shifting blocks of rock as they teter 2600 feet above Grewingk Lake. Marten Geertsema is a landslide expert from British Columbia who visited Grewingk Lake in Kachemak Bay State Park to help assess the potential for future landslides and tsunamis there.
