Ground Truth Trekking: Expeditions to explore environmental issues.

Journey Mission

From Seattle to Unimak Island: Four thousand miles along the edge of the Pacific, by foot, raft, and skis.

Our primary mission on this journey was to be observers and ambassadors - exploring and communicating the key environmental issues facing this region.

How are we working to accomplish this?

Our journey brought us through everything that exists on this coast, from large cities to remote wilderness, and from healty ecosystems to those heavily impacted by development. But in this area of the world, the fate of much of the land is still being decided - we still have a chance to get it right.

We're working to fill this website with publicly available information, photos, stories, and resources.
We give slideshow presentations to the public and in schools.
I'm working on a Book about the journey.
And we're working to make a movie using some of our footage.

We hope, through our photographs and stories, to make these places real for people. And through our observations and analysis, we seek to inform as we entertain.
By following our journey, we hope you will learn as we learn, and we hope you will be motivated to have an impact on some of these issues
