AK Revenue and Taxes

Natural Resource Revenue and Taxes for Alaska (2004)

This figure shows the total revenue and taxes paid by coal, metals mining, fisheries, and oil/gas in Alaska in 2004.   The tax numbers are a total of royalties, rentals, and resource taxes. These numbers take into account several deductions and exemptions and are therefore an estimate of the actual amount paid (as opposed to the nominal rates).  They do not include AK corporate income tax of ~9% which is paid by all corporations in the state, nor do they include payroll taxes.

The primary sources of information for this figure can be found in our articles on "Mining Taxes and Revenue in AK" and "Coal Taxes, Rents and Royalties".  Additional information was obtained from the Coal Diver website.
